Q:
My period has been late for about 12 days now, and the last time that I had sex was the night before my boyfriend went back to school on January 8. I am not on the pill and we use a condom every time, except last time we had sex for about 1-2 minutes without a condom before he put one on for the rest of the time. Normally, I get my period every 35 or so days, so I was expecting it almost 2 weeks ago but I still haven't gotten it. I have taken 4 at home pregnancy tests (2 were EPT and 2 were first response) and they were all negative. Is there still a chance that I am pregnant even if they were all negative and taken long after my period was due?
A:
The over the counter pregnancy tests are pretty accurate but we can certainly confirm that with a test here in the clinic. Irregular cycles can happen due to stress or other hormonal factors so if you would like to be checked by a women's health specialist, call for an appointment 650-3400.
