Q:
I think I may have a yeast infection, or something like it. I'm not sure. My vagina itches quite a bit sometimes, at random times. And it kind of smells sometimes too, I wouldnt exactly call it a fishy smell, but I dont think it's a good smell either. It doesnt burn when I pee though. And sometimes I have white stuff on my vagina, kinda looks like toilet paper once in a while, otherwise it's just super small white stuff, not sure how to totally explain it. And sometimes my discharge is discolored. Do I need to see a doctor? Or is there a way to get rid of this myself, like eating yougurt everyday?
A:
It sounds very much like yeast and you certainly can try over the counter vaginal antifungal cream like clotrimazole to see if that will resolve it. If not, or you are concerned about the possibility of a sexually transmitted infection, then call 650-3400 for an exam at the clinic. We are offering free chlamydia and gonorrhea screening and most students are eligible.
