Q:
Hey,
I'm on the progestrin-only birth control "Camila". I am about halfway through my 3rd pack of this. My last real period was the first week of february.I have had to instances where I spotted for like 24 hours but that is it.
I am making sure to take the pills within one hour every time. I also researched this bc and found that for most people the symptoms are heavier periods and major headaches (if any symptoms) no one said they stopped having a period.
Should I be concerned?
A:
Although progestin only pills can result in more break through bleeding, it is also possible to have little or no bleeding. If you are concerned about pregnancy, you can certainly do a pregnancy test, but it is very possible this is going to be the new "normal" for you on this particular pill. If you aren't comfortable with not having regular periods, talk with your women's health practitioner about whether there is another formulation of hormones that may work for you.
