Can the health center prescribe accutane? If so how much and what are the risks?

 

A:

We no longer manage accutane prescriptions because the risks of side effects and potential birth defects if a pregnancy occurs are considerable and the required paperwork is more than we can take on in our busy clinic. We refer students to dermatologists to start and maintain the prescription but can do the required lab work in our clinic if that makes it any easier for students.
