Q:
Yesterday I had unprotected sex with a girl for two hours. We used a massage oil that I have as lubrication (which is comprised of all natural oils and not synthetic chemicals). However today, I've noticed several very small red dots located on the head of my penis.
Is this to be expected? I am concerned because I had a herpes test about a year and a half ago, and it came back negative. However I realize that they are not 100% accurate and there is always a chance for error.
Could this prolonged exposure cause an STD to finally flare up, or do a few small red dots sound more like a skin irritation?
A:
It does sound like more of a skin irritation with the rash happening this quickly after sex. You can try using over the counter hydrocortisone cream 1% to see if that helps clear them. If not, we can certainly take a look to see what it looks like.
Needless to say, protected intercourse is safer.
