Q:
I have been feeling really fatigued lately, but there are some other symptoms that worry me, too. I am constantly thirsty and feel like I NEED to eat every two hours. Because I'm drinking so much, I also have to pee frequently--sometimes it even interrupts my exercise and I have to stop to pee. Also, I've been really careful about what I eat since I exercise a lot, but I have diarrhea and/or nausea several times a month and I'm not sure why. Are any of these things linked? Nothing has changed really, my diet and exercise have been stable and I haven't taken on any new stresses in my life.
A:
Your symptoms are worrisome and it would be important to have your blood sugar checked to make sure it is not elevated, causing the hunger, thirstiness and frequent urination. The intermittent diarrhea and nausea may not be connected, but it is wise to make an appointment to have us sort it out with you.
