Q:
What are symptoms of diabetes? How would I know if I have it?
A:
The only sure way to know is blood sugar testing which we can do instantly in the clinic. The most accurate is a fasting glucose (after nothing but water for 12 hours overnight) but any time of day a random glucose can be done and if normal, rules out diabetes.
Some people with elevated blood sugars have few symptoms, but unusual thirstiness, urinating frequently and increased hunger are all symptoms.
