Q:
I don't have a big history of nose bleeds but last year I had a few over the course of the winter and I just figured it was due to the cold, dry air. This winter I've had at least 10, 4 from the first Monday of spring break to the first day of classes. I'm not a nose picker and I haven't had any head injuries. Should I be worried?
A:
It could be an irritated blood vessel that needs attention, or if there are any other signs of easy bleeding (i.e. bruising that seems excessive), we should check your clotting function and platelet count. It is sometimes an easy solution to stop the bleeding so it makes sense to be seen.
