I used to have really bad acne of all kinds; that has died down since being on medication. But now I'm getting a lot more cystic acne. Is there a medication specifically for cystic acne on the face?

 

A:

There are excellent and effective medications for cystic acne.  If you are not currently using any prescription topical drying agents or antibiotics, that should be tried first.  Accutane is a last resort option, due to its side effects, and would need to be prescribed by a specialist.
