How much does it cost to just get a simple vaginal exam at the SHC? I have gotten 1 pap smear before and they told me that I had Bacterial Vaginosis. I was put on antibiotics for it, but that didn't work. I still have discharge constantly coming from my vagina that's usually clear but may have a SLIGHT tint of yellow at times. There is often so much discharge that I have to wear panty liners everyday, all day. Is it normal to have a ton of discharge? The discharge itself doesn't smell bad, but by the end of the day I will notice a sour smell coming from my whole vaginal area, even on the insides of the labia. Is that smell just caused by sweat and normal body odors? I know that it is not a yeast infection because my discharge is not clumpy or anything. I've noticed that it tends to smell worse when I wear clothing that is not very breathable, such as denim jeans.
There is no cost for an evaluation in the Health Center for vaginitis unless testing is sent to the hospital lab for sexually transmitted infections. In your case, since treatment for bacterial vaginosis did not help, it may be necessary to do cultures which can cost up to $70 (on your student account).
