I seem to have pulsatile tinnitus, much like described on this page:
This site suggests that those with pulsatile tinnitus get an MRI.
What should I do? I would like to get an MRI, what steps do you suggest I take?
Pulsatile tinnitus does need evaluation as the vast majority of causes are common and non-life threatening. An MRI can be helpful if there is serious concern about vascular or brain abnormalities causing the symptom but does not have to be done in every case.
You do need to be seen in clinic for further assessment and an examination of your ears and neurologic functioning. If you are not a student this quarter, you can be seen in an urgent care clinic, as it is not necessary to seek emergency room care.
