The tips of my right index and middle fingers have been feeling a little numb for the past week. I woke up one morning and felt "pins and needles" in this area. Thinking I had fallen asleep on my hand, I assumed it would go away after a few minutes. As far as I can tell, it has not gotten any worse, but not better either. It does not hurt; more of an uncomfortable feeling. Is this something you would recommend I get checked out, or wait? Thanks!
Persisting numbness should be checked out. It is possibly a pinched nerve causing the symptom but since it has not resolved for a week, there are other neurologic and metabolic causes of numbness that should be ruled out.
