Q:

Is a .167 alcohol level safe?

A:

I guess I need to ask "Safe for what?" Nothing I can think of. It is an excessively high level of alcohol for anyone, especially someone with little tolerance or experience with alcohol-- impairing judgment, physical reflexes, suppressing respiratory drive, and putting one at risk for accidents, falls, and being sexual when one doesn't want to be. It is also over twice the legal limit for driving while intoxicated.

There is nothing safe about overuse of alcohol. It is the single most common reason for death among college age adults.
