Q:

I have a couple questions. I have a friend who is struggling with school, many problems back home and all of this is stressing him out. It is also causing a great deal of depression. He is angry and very unhappy. However, he doesn't have any health insurance. What would it cost for him to come in and get some help? What would be done for him? Please respond. Thank you.

A:

Your friend can come to both the Student Health Center and the Counseling Center at no charge if he is an enrolled student. An assessment is done of his current symptoms and past history, and it is evaluated whether medication might be helpful to relieve his symptoms. Supportive counseling is always available and we encourage him to come in as soon as possible.
