Q:

After not taking anti-depressants and mood stabilizers consistently, how long does it take for them to be effective again?

A:

This depends on the medication you are taking, your history of response to the medication in the past, how long you've been inconsistent with your medication and what dosing you are on. If you get consistent with adequate dosing, you should be feeling improvement in 2-3 weeks. Feel free to come in and discuss it with our mental health care providers if you have concerns.
