Q:I see a doctor at the Health Center. I take medicines prescribed by that doctor. I noticed that one label reads "No Refills," and the other label reads "1 Refill." When I need refills on one medicine, I must go to the Health Center every time. The other medicine is simple to refill. What should I do to refill both my prescriptions? What will I need to do for the prescription that involves periodic visits?
A:Some medications need to be monitored more closely so are not automatic refills and some are controlled substances which legally cannot be refilled without a visit. We try to keep the refill process as simple as possible by using the Virtual Visit form online or our refill phone line. You leave your information about the refill you need and how you are doing, and your provider will get back to you by email or phone about the status of the refill request and whether you actually need an appointment, or can just come in to pick up the medication. ~The Doc
