Q:
I've
fallen into the routine of jogging for 30-minutes every night to stay fit
(I'm a 22 y/o male). Someone told me that it isn't good to run every night.
Is this true, considering I'm not straining myself or sustaining an
inordinately quick pace. I feel healthy when I run and it's kind of
upsetting that I could be hurting my body by doing so!
A:
There is no
problem with jogging 30 minutes every night--the time of day does not have
any influence in your risk for injury, unless you are running where
lighting is poor and you could trip and fall! The downside of night time
exercise is that it can make it more difficult to fall asleep if you are
exercising very late, as the exercise is generally stimulating and it can
take awhile to settle down and relax enough to sleep well.
Keep doing what you are doing if your sleep is fine and it is a great way to
stay fit!
