Q:

I'm on a diet right now, I'm do exercise in one form or another almost everyday (Rec center/dance classes) and have significantly cut down on my intake of food and definitely the sort of food I eat. At night though, I get really hungry and I love yogurt. Is it bad or fattening at all to eat a cup of nonfat yogurt about an hour before I go to bed? Will this make me gain weight and add on fat?

A:

It sounds like you're working very hard at meeting your goals! Good for you. Yogurt can be a very nutritious part of your daily intake. If you're hungry, you need to eat! So, if you're hungry an hour before you go to bed, yogurt is a healthy snack choice. Generally, it all boils down to Calories. If your body is at a Calorie deficit, you will start losing weight. Keep striving for your goals; you're doing good!
