Q:
I have gone to a private gynecologist to get my check-ups
and birth control pills and what I am wondering is if the Student Health
Center can prescribe the same birth control pills I am taking now. I don't
think I can get the prescription actually filled at the clinic as I don't
think you carry it, but could it still be prescribed to me? I take the pills
for an actually problem, not prevention of birth, so I wouldn't be able to
change the pills I am taking.
A:
Yes, we
can prescribe the medication you are taking as long as we have records from
your current physician about the condition that is being treated. You would
then pick it up from the pharmacy of your choice if we don't have that
particular brand or equivalent generic.
