Several weeks ago I had a bad cold that lasted about a week and then went away. Ever since then however, I have had a cough and keep coughing up a little phlem each time. Is this left over from my cold? and will it go away or should I see the doc?
A:
If your cough has gone on over 4 weeks, is producing yellow/green/brown or bloody phlegm, or you are experiencing shortness of breath, fever, sweat, chills or unusual fatigue you should come in for a lung exam.
