Q:

I had the flu last week (confirmed by the SHC) and I still have a lingering cough. My throat is very sore and I'm a bit worried that the cough is getting worse.

Other than the obvious sleep, eat, drink tea, what can I do to expedite my return to health? This cough is really tiresome.

A:

The influenza cough can last 10 days or more, but if you are still running fever, or are bringing up yellow/green mucus with it, then we should listen to you again to make sure you have not developed pneumonia. We have seen a number of influenza-related pneumonias.

Otherwise you are doing all the right things to help yourself heal.
