Does it make much sense for me to get a flu vaccine if I've
gotten the flu already this quarter? What will it actually do for me?
A:
You don't
have need for the influenza vaccine if you have been diagnosed with
influenza already this quarter. You would have had only one virus (of the
several that are currently circulating in the community) and the vaccine
contains several different flu viral antigens to develop immunity, but even
so, it is not necessary to be vaccinated after getting the flu. The immunity
lasts only about three months any way.
