Q:
I was wondering. I think I might have an eating disorder,
and I was wondering where to get help. I mean, I might not...but if I do,
um, where can I get help? I just graduated and I don't know where to go now
that I graduated.
A:
If you
have no insurance right now, the best way to get affordable help is to go to
a community health clinic, such as Interfaith or Sea Mar in Bellingham, as
they do have sliding fee scale appointments based on your income, and access
to primary care providers and mental health specialists. If you have
insurance, you may wish to consider starting with a dietician to review your
eating issues, and the Nutrition Clinic at St. Joseph Hospital has expertise
there, but any family physician can start looking with you at the issues you
are having and help you determine if there is a problem that would benefit
from treatment.
