Swine Flu Advisory - April 27, 2009

Due to recent swine flu outbreak in various parts of the United States, Canada and Mexico, a national public health emergency has been declared. In response, the WWU Counseling Center has instituted the following procedures minimize risk of transmission of the virus from person to person in the Counseling Center.

If you think you might be getting sick or if you are currently having respiratory symptoms, it is best to reschedule your counseling appointment. Your counselor may be available to have a phone appointment if needed. If you come to the WWU Counseling Center and are having respiratory symptoms, staff are instructed to wear a protective mask at all times even if you think you are not contagious.

To keep yourself in good health, cleanse your hands regularly and avoid touching your face with hands that have not been washed or sanitized. Cover your cough and sneezes at all times by using a mask or coughing/sneezing into your sleeve.
