CASAS confidential services include: Student help line, medical / legal assistance, professional counseling, information and referral, support group resources, and accompaniment of victim to the hospital and police station
Anyone who has ever experienced any kind of violence is encouraged to utilize this program. It is available to students who have experienced any of the following during childhood, adolescence, adulthood, or as a student.
- Attempted assault
- Obscene phone calls
- Attempted rape
- Harassing e-mail
- Dating violence
- Physical violence
- Hate crimes
- Rape
- Indecent exposure
- Sexual assault
- Incest
- Stalking
- Molestation
- Unwanted touching
CASAS provides students with a case manager who assists in the process of planning, organizing, coordinating, monitoring, and advocating for the services and resources needed to respond to the needs of a victim of crime.
CASAS Case Manager assists with the following:
Medical/ Legal Assistance
- Available to accompany student to any appointments or meetings as support and advocate. Monitor any legal proceedings on behalf of the student.
Professional Counseling
- Locate available on- or off-campus counseling services.
Support Group Resources
- Information about support groups for sexual assault survivors offered quarterly on campus.
Orders of Protection
- Information and assistance obtaining an order of protection (protection order, restraining order, anti-harassment order).
Academic Support
- Work with professors to create an appropriate academic plan (extra credit assignments, project extensions...)
Emergency Leave
- Assistance with withdrawal from class or school. Assistance petitioning for tuition refund.
Financial Aid Services
- Petition to waive minimum credit load requirements when needing to drop below full-time status.
Housing Services
- Assistance with changing housing or phone number.
Judicial Services
- University no contact order
University Conduct Process
- Crime Victims Compensation. Assistance applying for payment of physical and mental health treatment.
