Off–Campus WWU

Off–Campus WWU: A Road Map to Neighborhood Living is a comprehensive and interactive website that educates WWU students about off-campus living to enhance their experience in Bellingham's neighborhoods and reduce the problems sometimes associated with living independently for the first time – both for students and their neighbors. The Coalitionfs Off–Campus WWU Work Group and many Western students were involved in developing the content and design of the website.

The Off–Campus WWU website features the following topic areas:

  • Moving into Your New Place: Safety, roommates, rental agreements, landlord tenant rights and responsibilities, setting up utilities, repairs, leaving your rental, and eviction
  • Be the Neighbor Everyone Loves: How to meet your neighbors and prevent and resolve conflicts
  • Partying in Bellingham: Hosting and attending parties in Bellinghamfs neighborhoods and Party Patrol 101
  • Get Involved in Your Neighborhood: Listing of Bellingham neighborhood associations, and links to BlockWatch and the Whatcom Volunteer Center

The Off–Campus WWU website includes a special quiz that tests WWU studentsf knowledge of the site content. Upon completion of the quiz, qualified participants are entered into a drawing for a $100 gift certificate to a local grocery store. This website also features video clips from members of our community relaying important messages to WWU students about living in Bellingham.
