- Alcohol consumption increases your risk for being a perpetrator or being a victim of sexual assault.
- Students can increase other students’ safety by calling 911 in an alcohol overdose situation.
- Drinking and driving puts the driver, passengers and others on the road at risk.
- Most college students overestimate the amount and frequency of alcohol use among their peers.
- Mixing alcohol and other drugs can have unexpected and dangerous outcomes.
Reducing The Risk With Drugs:
- Most college students overestimate the amount and frequency of drug use among their peers.
- Drug use can interfere with academic success.
- The majority of Western students are non-smokers.
- Most Western students do not use illegal drugs.
- Use of illegal drugs violates university policy and Washington State law.
- Most drugs are either physically or psychologically addictive. Western’s campus offers help to cut down or stop drug use.
- Mixing drugs can have dangerous and unanticipated outcomes.
- Be well informed. New information on drugs is coming from new research all of the time. What was thought to be true, even a few years ago, may no longer be accurate.
- Using drugs and driving puts the driver, passengers and others on the road at risk.
