If you have flu-like Symptoms:
If you are having a life threatening emergency call 911.
Please do NOT walk into the clinic without an initial screening by a consulting nurse!
During our clinic open hours, work through our self-assessment survey to see if you need a phone screening at 360-650-3400 and select the option for "consulting nurse".
If the consulting nurse advises you to be seen, fill out our online symptom specific questionnaire for H1N1 Flu. Fill out your demographic information and then choose "H1N1 Flu" from the pick-list. It's the first option in the list. This information will go directly into your electronic chart and will be reviewed by a provider before your appointment.
You can also try this new interactive flu self-assessment website created jointly by Microsoft and Emory University. If it advises you to "call your doctor", then call 650-3400 to speak with the consulting nurse at the Student Health Center.
If you don't think you need to talk to a consulting nurse but you have non-urgent questions for a healthcare provider, fill out our Influenza Virtual Visit form and someone will get back to you the same day. On weekends and holidays, virtual visits are checked and answered once daily.
If you need urgent consultation when the Health Center is closed, call 1-800-607-5501 to speak with an after-hours consulting nurse. This is a free call for enrolled students only.
The Student Health Center will not provide a medical excuse to miss classes if you are having flu symptoms. Email your instructor to let them know you are recovering from flu like symptoms.
