Review of H1N1 Vaccine safety and effectiveness
Will H1N1 vaccine for those 25 years of age and older who are healthy ever be available at WWU?
We expect it will be at some point, but we just don't know for sure right now. Because production of the vaccine is not able to meet the demand, the Whatcom County Health Department must continuously assess and prioritize the distribution of the vaccine as it becomes available to them and follow the criteria set by the Federal Government for distribution of the vaccine to the highest priority populations.
For Community flu shot clinics: Go to the Whatcom Public Health Department's site at http://www.co.whatcom.wa.us/health/. Call before going to off campus community sources to verify availability of the vaccine.

For Community flu shot clinics: Go to the Whatcom Public Health Department's site at http://www.co.whatcom.wa.us/health/. Call before going to off campus community sources to verify availability of the vaccine. It may cost more elsewhere but it's generally reimbursable by insurance.

Students: The $18 charge will be billed to your student account. If you'd like to submit the charge to your insurance for possible reimbursement, ask the receptionist for a Charge Slip.
Faculty, Staff, and Family Members over 13: You must first purchase a flu shot ticket for $18 at the Cashier’s Office in Old Main 245. The nurse will initial the ticket after the shot is given, which may then be submitted to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
