Steven Globerman
Director, Center for International Business

Steven Globerman is currently the Kaiser Professor of International Business and and Director of the Center for International Business at Western Washington University. Previously Dr. Globerman held tenured appointments at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia and at York University, Faculty of Administrative Studies in Toronto. He has also been a visiting professor at the University of California, University of British Columbia, Stockholm School of Economics, and the Helsinki School of Economics.

Dr. Globerman has published over 100 articles and monographs dealing with a wide range of public and private sector policy issues, as well as a textbook on international business management. His current research is focused on the impacts of trade and investment liberalization and international comparisons of health care policies.

He has consulted for a wide range of public and private sector organizations on economic policy issues. Public sector organizations include: the Asian Development Bank, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, the Economic Council of Canada, Investment Canada and The World Bank. Private sector organizations include: Bell Canada, B.C. Telephone, Imperial Oil, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He has also provided management seminars and lectures to government policy makers throughout North America and in several Asian countries.

In other public sector service, Dr. Globerman served on the research staffs of two Canadian government Royal Commissions on the economy. He also served as research advisor to Investment Canada on the subject of foreign direct investment and as Adjunct Scholar at The Fraser Institute in Vancouver where he was responsible for coordinating research on the North American Free Trade Agreement. He was a founding member of the Association for Cultural Economics and is currently a member of the American and Canadian Economics Associations, the Academy of International Business, the International Telecommunications Society and the Strategic Management Association. Dr. Globerman is listed in Who's Who Among Economists.
