How do I report an animal concern?

Any incidents, concerns, or questions regarding inappropriate care and use of live vertibrate animals should be reported by phone, email, or in-person to the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs.

Please see our contact page for more information.

Does my research involve ACUC review?

ACUC review is required for any use of animals, whether it involves research or teaching, that is carried out at WWU facilities or as fieldwork conducted by WWU personnel or students. An animal subject is any live vertebrate, whether warm or cold blooded. For example: mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish.

Is WWU ACUC the right ACUC for my project?

We are the right ACUC if the research:

  • Is conducted by WWU faculty, staff, or students
  • Is performed on the WWU premises or its satellite facilities
