Counseling Training Clinic

To Our Clients

We are offering in person services for all ages and remote services for individuals 13 years and older from January through June, 2024. We can be reached by phone at (360) 650-3184 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

Services are provided by graduate students, closely supervised by faculty of the Psychology Department, who have a Ph.D. in psychology or counselor education, and extensive training in therapeutic approaches and practice. The department's graduate programs in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs (CACREP), meeting or exceeding all academic and clinical standards. The Western Washington University (WWU) Counseling Training Clinic has been providing counseling for people in the Bellingham community for over 35 years. The clinic is located on Western’s campus in an accessible facility built in 2008. The counseling students provide Individual counseling for adults, adolescents, children. On occasion, counseling may also be available for couples and families.

The Counseling Training Clinic takes client privacy seriously. Please see our Notice of Privacy Practices and let us know if you have any questions or concerns in regards to the privacy or security of client records.

*Please note our counselors are unable to provide crisis stabilization or crisis care. If you need immediate help, call 911 for a life-threatening emergency or 988 for a mental health emergency.

The Clinic is located on the Fourth Floor of the Academic Instructional Center (East Wing), at the south end of the Western Washington University campus. Limited parking is available directly outside the clinic. Parking permits are available from the Clinic Receptionist.

The Counseling Training Clinic is open during winter and spring academic quarters, which runs from January through June. While we do not have a wait list for clients, it is recommended to call the clinic in early December for priority scheduling.

The Counseling Training Clinic Hours are: Monday - Thursday, 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
