BI Query 10.2 Install
There are three possible install scripts you can choose from depending on the version of Windows you are using:
- Windows 7 64 bit

Before you start
1, Windows 7 users need to determine if their OS is 32 bit or 64 bit
If you are on Windows 7 and do not know if your Operating System is 64  or 32 bit, follow the instructions below to determine the correct install instructions to use. If you need assistance contact the Help Desk at x4444.

How to determine whether your Windows 7 is 32 or 64 bit
(this example = 64 bit)


1. click on the Windows 7 Start button
2. mouse right click on the Computer button
3. mouse left click on Properties



4. Under System /  Processor description determine that the System type is 64 bit

2, After determining the OS,  users need to determine if an Oracle client is installed

- go here for Windows 7 64 bit
- go here for Windows 7 32 bit

- go here for Windows XP

How to determine whether you have the Oracle Client installed
Windows 7 - 64 bit
- go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder
- click on the odbcad32  file
- select the "System DSN" tab
- if databases exist: DATAW, WWIS, PPRD then test ODBC connections
- if databases do not exist, click on the Drivers tab to determine if the Oracle 11G driver exists
-  If the Oracle 11G driver exists ,then call ATUS support at x4444

* If if the Oracle 11G driver does not exist, then install the Oracle 11G client.

file://///msfs-software/Software/Software/Oracle/product/11.2.0.3/client_32bit folder
 

Windows 7 - 32 bit
- go to Control Panel
- click on Category drop down box, select Large Icons
- click on Data Sources (ODBC)
- select the "System DSN" tab
- if databases exist: DATAW, WWIS, PPRD then test ODBC connections
- if databases do not exist, click on the Drivers tab to determine if the Oracle 11G driver exists
-  If the Oracle 11G driver exists ,then call ATUS support at x4444


* If if the Oracle 11G driver does not exist, then install the Oracle 11G client.

\\msfs-software\Software\Software\Oracle\product\11.2.0.3\client_32bit folder|

Windows XP
* Note: if the Oracle 10G client currently exists, it is not necessary to upgrade to Oracle 11G. Proceed to  BI Query 10.2.1 install*
For new installs or reinstallations

1 go to Settings > Control Panel
2 click on Administrative Tools icon
3 click on Data Sources (ODBC)
4 click on System DSN tab
5 if WWIS, PPRD, DATAW  exist go to step # 10
6 if WWIS, PPRD  does not exist, install Oracle 11g client
7.go to X:\Software\Oracle\product\11.2.0.3\client_32bit folder
8. click on the XP ClientInstall.bat icon file

9 if you have installed Oracle 11g client, proceed to step #10
10.test WWIS and DATAW to verify connection
11 if you cannot connect, call Help Desk x4444
