ORACLE SQL DEVELOPER - installation
Note:
- IE browser will prompt options: Run, Save or Cancel options. Select: Run
- Firefox browser will prompt options: Save or Cancel. Select: Save then click on the downloaded file to run Ora SQL Developer.
- Navigate to X:/Software/Oracle/products/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper.exe, and click the file to launch Oracle SQL Developer 2.1.1
- click Run
- Again, click Run
- Oracle splash screen
- Select SQL Source (.sq;)
- click on the “+” icon
- A pop-up screen will appear
Populate the New Database Connection (e.g. for WWIS)
- enter Database Connection Name * you can name it as to your preference e.g. WWIS Production
- enter your user name
- enter your password
- Save Password: *remember if you save your password, it will expire every 120 days
- enter Host Name: uisdb.admsec.wwu.edu
- Select Service Name button
- enter Service Name WWIS
- click on Test button to test the database connection
- Click on the Save button to save the parms
- Click on WWIS icon
- sign in if you have not saved your password
- results displayed
Configuring other database connections

Perform the above steps to set up other databases below (if required). The only data fields that you will be required to change are step changes will be for steps 1, 4 and 6. Also step 3 if passwords are different . |

Upon completion of the databases connections you had set up, you will be presented with the choices of databases that you can connect to: e.g. PPRD
- click on PPRD
- enter your user name and password
note: passwords can be saved when initially setting up a db connection, however passwords need to be changed every 120 days
