Interrupting a Query
*** WARNING ***
Unlike the client/server
version of BI Query, there is no
application method to interrupt a query once it has been sent
to the server. However you can interrupt a query by closing your
web browser.
Web queries responses may be slow even when returning small result sets. Large query results will take longer
times to complete. It is strongly recommended that you qualify your query as
much as possible - limiting the result set to only those rows you really
want before submitting it

Running Reports
As in the client/server version of BI Query you
can run a report by clicking the title on the BI Query menu. You can also run a report directly from the
portfolio by clicking on the report title within the folder list.
Printing a Report from
the Web:
You can print the report using your browser’s print button. However, as with
printing any Web page, the format will include browser heading information. If
you wish to print a hard copy of the report, pdf (Adobe Acrobat) is the
best format for printing.
After running the report, select the ‘pdf’ button on the upper right, and after
the report opens in the new format, select ‘Print.’ This will eliminate printing
your browser heading on the report itself.
Exporting Report Data:
- csv: As with queries,
selecting ‘csv’ will save the report information as a comma-separated values
list which opens by default in MS Excel. Choose this option if you want to
export the data only.

Searching for Reports
* A common problem:
*
When attempting to open Dataw in Internet
Explorer you may see only a gray screen. A message similar to
"Java.Lan.ClassNotFoundException"
or http://< ServerName>/ADYCodebase/com/hcl/bi/rendering/RenderApplet.class
may be displayed. Should this occur, go to Tools ->
Internet Options -> Advanced -> Java (Sun). Uncheck the box that says “Use Java
2 v1.3.1_02 for <applet> (requires restart).” Restart your browser.
General BI Web Help:
The
‘Help’ button on the far upper right of any BI Web window will open
Hummingbird’s pre-packaged Help for BI Web.

Searching for Reports:
BI
Web has a Search feature. From the Portfolio screen, enter a word or phrase in
the ‘Search’ box in the upper right, and it will return a list of reports
containing that phrase in their titles.
This feature will NOT, however, find queries or tables/fields in the database
