The mission of the Office of Institutional Assessment (OIA) is to support continual improvement in student learning and faculty development at Western Washington University by collecting, analyzing, and reporting research data on academic programs, student learning outcomes, and curricular development.

In conjunction with the Office of Survey Research, OIA conducts surveys, administers Western's Assessment Plan , and publishes reports on student learning, behavior, and attitudes, and on institutional performance. These reports provide valuable information for improving University programs and services, and for measuring and reporting to various stakeholders how well the University is accomplishing its various missions.

Assessment reports cover a wide range of topics, from academic programs, health attitudes, and student risk behaviors, to time-to-degree studies, graduation rates, and employer satisfaction surveys. In the next column are links, by category, to executive summaries of a wide range of Western Washington University Assessment reports. Bound copies of any of these reports are available on request, and many recent reports are available in entirety online in pdf format.
