Institutional Research Staff

As at many other schools, institutional research functions at Western are conducted in several collaborative offices which together comprise the Office of Institutional Assessment, Research, and Testing (OIART)

The Office of Institutional Assessment & Student Learning collects and analyzes data on student learning, facilitates and administers Western's Assessment Plan, and publishes reports on Western students, alumni, and programs.

The Office of Institutional Research maintains institutional-level Data files and through its extensive Data Warehouse, writes Technical Reports on a wide range of institutional performance measures.

The Office of Survey Research (OSR) regularly surveys students, alumni, employers, and the campus community to provide valuable assessment data which can be used for improvement of programs, instruction, faculty scholarship, and information services.

The Testing Center is a branch of the Office of Institutional Assessment, and coordinates the professional administration of student course evaluations, and the scoring of a wide range of tests at Western, both for the University community and for outside agencies such as ETS.
