2007-2009 Capital Budget Overview
| Western Washington University requested a state capital budget of $151,655,663 of which $85,923,002 was related to new appropriations and $65,732,661 to reappropriations. Pursuant to Office of Financial Management instructions, agency reappropriation requests were updated during the legislative session and Western decreased its reappropriation request to $53,750,000 to reflect more current estimates. Final reappropriation amounts were calculated in November 2007 by OFM based on actual expenditures for the 2005-2007 biennium. |
| Western received $47,610,002 in new appropriations and $46,244,839 in reappropriations. Of the $47,610,002 in new appropriations, $8,178,000 is generated through the University from the Normal School Fund (state timber sales) and the portion of tuition and fees dedicated to construction. The new Gardner-Evans Higher Education Construction Account provides $1 and the Education Construction Account provides $3,614,000. The remaining $35,818,001 is financed from state general obligation bonds. |
