Spotlight Student

Jennifer Angelosante, our 2007 Mathematics Department Outstanding Graduate, is a student with many talents.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Chemistry. For the excellence of her work, she received many awards. She received the Western Foundation Academic Excellence Scholarship, the College of Sciences and Technology Women in Science Scholarship, the Jean Dreyfus Boissevain Undergraduate Research Grant and the two-year Knapman Scholarship in Mathematics. Jennifer served as a Math Fellow and volunteered in outreach activities to prospective majors for the Mathematics Department. She performed chemistry research at Western for three years developing catalysts for environmental remediation and presented her work at the national meeting of the American Chemical Society.

But that's not all – Jennifer also has other interests.  She along with several other students co-founded the Western Homebrew Association and she has volunteered at San Juan Vineyards where she helped with the local harvest. She plans to continue her studies at Western with a master’s in mathematics as her goal, and who knows where she will go from there!
