I have had a long and successful history with Western. I completed both
my BA (1981) and MEd (1993) at Western. During my undergraduate years, I
worked in the university residence system as an Assistant Manager of
Buchanan Towers (university apartment complex), a Peer Advisor in Academic
Advising, and a student assistant in the Vice President of Student Affairs
Office. In 1987 I returned to Western as an Admissions/Financial Aid
Counselor, charged with the task of enhancing campus student ethnic
diversity.
As Dean of Students, it is my job to ensure that students are afforded a
quality developmental and learning experience in a safe environment. As an
alum of Western, I can say with a great deal of confidence that I am part
of one of the greatest institutions of higher learning in the country.
Western has a firm and virtually undeniable commitment to quality
undergraduate education, as evidenced by our institutional mission
statement, which is strongly endorsed and supported by our President,
administration, faculty, and Board of Trustees.
I would encourage you to get involved. Your college years will be some of
the most memorable and treasured ones. Don't allow these years to pass
without you being able to say, "I was part of that change," "I was at the
game when Western broke the record," or "we helped to develop that program."
Theodore ("Ted") W. Pratt, Jr.
