After disAbility Resources for Students (DRS) completes a Needs Assessment for the student and determines that the student is qualified for adaptive equipment the student must initiate the request.

1. Action by Student: Schedules an appointment with the Director of DRS or designee to discuss adaptive equipment needs.

2. Action by Director of DRS or designee:

• Meets with or calls the student and discusses options for meeting the students needs.
• Provides student with adaptive equipment

Important Notes:

• Adaptive equipment includes but is not limited to computer software or hardware, mechanical devices, audiovisual equipment, recreational materials, and furniture that directly relate to a student's academic requirements.
• Adaptive equipment is not durable medical equipment or equipment for personal use outside of the academic environment.
