What’s the best thing you like about Fairhaven?

“It’s like University plus. I like it because you can do anything that you like while you’re at Fairhaven, but you can also go to the University and do a major. It’s essentially just like adding on options.”
Alex Tapia
Undeclared, junior

“I like the variety of classes.”
Beatrice Delarosa, Human Services

“It’s a school where you can choose what to study rather than being told what to study.”
Anders Carlson-Wee, Freshman
In what way has Fairhaven’s interdisciplinary learning environment been important to your education?

“It encourages me to know that I will learn from my instructors feedback about the way I’m learning and what I’m learning. I can ask questions at anytime…whether it is in the middle of class, or an e-mail I know that I will get a response. And I don’t have to be afraid of having to take tests anymore. I now know that I can do college instead of, “oh god I can’t do that.’”
Sunshine Allen
Senior, Major: (transfer) Human Services Major.

“It has helped me explore possibilities of combining fields of study that couldn’t be combined at other schools. I guess I just have freedom here.”
Emilia Zuber
Transition

“The way Fairhaven allows you to make connections with your own personal studies really allows you to see what I’m passionate about. Beyond my own personal studies the reassurance and support the Fairhaven community provides is one of the most helpful aspects of the college.
Curtis Yu
Senior, Multi-Cultural Prospective to Expressive Arts Therapy for Children
If you could describe Fairhaven in one sentence what would it be?

“It’s a community of self directed individuals.”
Amy Keeling
Senior (transfer) Documentary Studies

“Fairhaven is a place where you can go to shape your education in a way that fits you as an individual and to be around people who are doing the same thing…it changes education from something learned from a book into something that you actually experience.”
Jordan Bright

“A centralized community of experiential knowledge with character and motivation for change.”
James Turner, Junior/Senior, Interactive Poetry (designing right now)
