The new Academic Instructional Center, currently under design, will address pressing academic and instructional needs, as well as the general campus need for additional classroom space. The new facility will also allow for the consolidation and growth of the departments of Psychology and Communication Sciences and Disorders. The 118,000 s.f. building will be located southwest of the Communications Facility and is sited to allow easy public access to the clinics in both the Psychology and Communication Sciences and Disorders Departments. Construction began in February 2007. Substantial completion of the project is expected to occur sometime during late summer 2008 with final occupancy scheduled for Winter Quarter 2009.
