Project description
  • Performing Arts Center Music Library Environmental Improvements, PW561This project will improve the indoor air environmental conditions within the Music Library on the third floor of the Performing Arts Center (PAC). This area is the 1979 Henry Klein addition to the original Performing Arts Center. Tall, partially operable windows and fixed skylights provide natural light and some natural ventilation. However, the mechanical ventilation system does not currently provide cooling or humidity control for the protection of the collection. The project scope includes a new cooling unit on the roof of the library, hidden ductwork above the ceiling, exterior fixed window solar screening at the south upper clerestory, and possibly new window coverings on the east-facing windows of the library and the west-facing windows in the office wing (bid alternate).

Project schedule

  • Bid Opening: Early July 2008
  • Start Construction: Mid-August 2008
  • Substantial Completion: Early September 2008
