Students who wish to apply for admission to

the IEP should mail the following:
 

• A completed "Application for Admission"

  form with picture.

  • A letter of Financial Guarantee from your bank, in English, quoted in US funds.

  Admission to the IEP

  
   

  Applicants must have completed high school. As we do not offer a low-beginning level, students must have had some English language instruction before coming to the IEP.

  
   

  When you are accepted, we will send you an I-20 (Visa Eligibility Form) which you must take to the American Embassy or Consulate in your country to apply for your F-1 (Student) Visa. Please direct any questions you may have regarding visa status to an American consular officer in your country at the consulate general or embassy.

  
   

  Applications are handled on a first-come, first-served basis. It is recommended that students send in their applications at least two months before the beginning of each quarter. This allows enough time for the IEP office to process the application, and gives the applicant time to arrange for an F-1 visa.

  
  

  On September 1, 2004 a new United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) rule went into effect. This rule requires new international students to pay a one-time fee of $100 to DHS before they can apply for an F-1 or J-1 visa. This fee will pay for SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System). This is the system that U.S. schools use to issue I-20 forms. You can click here for more information on SEVIS. At the time you apply for a visa at a U.S. consulate, you will have to pay any other visa application fees.

  The Intensive English Program requires that all international students be covered by health and accident insurance. Students may not register for classes without proof of insurance. We strongly suggest that you purchase insurance coverage in your home country. If you have questions about medical insurance, or if insurance is not available in your home country, we will help you decide on a plan at the time of registration.
