Place: BH 227

Title: Fractals and Some Applications

Speaker: Jonny Ursin, WWU

Abstract: In this talk we will look at what a fractal is and the metric space in which they live. We will then proceed to look at three techniques in which we can produce images of these fractals: we will use the Collage Theorem, the Shadow Theorem, and the Escape Time Algorithm.

After exploring how these techniques work we will see the advantages of each and some applications in computer graphics and art.

Cookies: In BH 300 at 2:30pm.
