Pre-Press/Desktop Publishing
The Pre-press/Desktop Publishing area offers project coordination, consultation, image and text scanning, electronic layout and high-resolution output services. Experienced personnel are available for consultation on format, layout and design. High resolution (1800 dpi) laser printing and direct-to-film (2400 dpi) output services are provided to ensure high quality transfer to the printing process. Rates for pre-press and electronic publishing services are based on time and materials.

Clients may provide text in traditional hardcopy form or by electronic media/transmission. Both Macintosh and IBM-compatible formats are accepted. Hardcopy and electronic images also may be provided by the client, or chosen from a variety of photographs and clipart available in the Publishing Services library.

The Graphic Designers can advise on the University's graphic identity program. Staff members are available to provide guidelines for the general use of Western's logo and official seal as well as to consult with clients about appropriate usage under special circumstances.
