Purchasing and ATUS have summarized the guidelines for the purchases of desktops, laptops, servers, printers and software which explain the rationale for having standards as well as outlining the procedures to buy this equipment.

The standard configurations for both desktops and laptops are frequently reviewed as the technology advances and the computer suppliers come out with new models. Click the following links to see the current approved standards:

The guidelines document above has links to all of the supplier sites and internal web sites to help you decide how to proceed with your purchase. If after reviewing the Guideline document you feel you need to purchase something which is not within the guidelines, you may submit an Exception Form. This will allow Purchasing and ATUS to review your needs and discuss alternatives.

Printer & Scanner Pricing/Information
Hewlett Packard (HP) is the WWU preferred manufacturer for printers, and HP printers are supported by ATUS.

Want to use your PCard to order computer supplies or accessories? Send an email to our PCard desk, describe what you want to buy and from where, and she will advise whether it is okay to use your PCard.
Northwest Computer Supplies We are currently working on creating a fast and easy web-ordering system for computer supplies and accessories. Currently the LAN Managers group is trying out this new site.
PERSONAL COMPUTER PURCHASES
Some of our contractual agreements allow Faculty, Staff and Students to purchase computer equipment at a discount. Go to the Personal Purchases page for more information.
