About the RSP |

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is the university's
clearinghouse for proposals submitted by all faculty, staff and students
of the university as well as the recipient of all grants and contracts
awarded to the university. The RSP is the liaison to the granting agency
on matters of contract negotiation, certifications, assurances, etc. The
Vice Provost for Research is the university official authorized to sign
grant and contract agreements on behalf of the institution.
When a grant or contract is awarded to Western, an account is set up in the RSP from which the faculty Grant Director draws the funds. The Grant Accountant assists the Grant Director in the financial administration of the award including: monitoring of grant expenditures, preparation of monthly billings and financial reports and account maintenance.
