Past-Due Debt

The University handles past-due debt differently for students that are currently enrolled, and students that are not currently enrolled. Please read below for more information regarding either circumstance.

 

Currently Enrolled at Western

University services will be withheld, including (but not limited to): registration, grades, transcripts, and diplomas. You will also be assessed a monthly until the debt is paid in full. Services will be automatically restored once the account is paid in full.

To discuss your past-due debt, please contact the Loans and Collections department, Old Main 370, 360-650-2943, during regular office hours.

 

Not Currently Enrolled at Western

University services will be withheld, including, but not limited to, registration, grades, transcripts, and diplomas. You will also be assessed a monthly Late Payment Fee until the debt is paid in full. Services will be automatically restored once the account is paid in full.

All debt not paid in a timely manner may be referred to a Collection Agency. If you believe your past-due balance is inaccurate, please contact the Loans and Collections department to avoid Collection Agency action. If it is deemed necessary to refer the account to an Agency, the debtor (account holder) will be responsible for all collection costs and legal fees. All collection and legal costs will be added to the balance of your unpaid obligation.

• Credit Card - MC/American Express/Discover with a 2.75% Convenience Fee.

Mail
Check payable to Western Washington University in US dollars. Please write your Western Student ID# on your check. Include top barcode section of billing statement with check and mail to:

In Person
Payments can be made in person at the University Cashier office, Old Main 245 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The University Cashier takes the following form of payment:

• Cash
• Check - payable to Western Washington University in US dollars. Please write your Western Student ID# on your check.
• Debit Card - Visa/MC
• After hours - follow the steps for Check and place envelope in the drop box outside Edens Hall.
